With a significant pipeline of opportunities identified across the Transport and Technology sectors, UGL are seeking to appoint an experienced Electrical Engineer working in the major projects space based in Melbourne:
This role will perform Engineering function for projects and is accountable to the Lead Engineer - Electrical. It is responsible for managing the timely delivery of the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning documentation as related to projects. The engineer will participate in training and development opportunities, performance development initiatives and feedback sessions as well support and work along site their nominated buddy.
About the role
- Reviewing IFC documentation ( LV and Some HV) including from time to time design reports for changes
- Reviewing IFC documentation against the cable schedules for changes
- Raising RFIs and following through to reconcile changes between IFC documentation and cable schedule(s)
- As and when required assessing cable pathways and spacing requirements including loading on the cable containment system.
- As and when required assisting 3D modelers with the cable containment design but no actual modelling.
- As and when required basic calculations to check voltage drops and Phase to Earth fault levels.
- Raising RFI and following through to resolve any cable performance or cable type issues.
- Create a team culture that fosters high performance and personal improvement mindset.
- Adhere to company policies and other applicable laws, regulations, and standards for the workplace.
- Undertake any ad hoc projects, initiatives, tasks as directed by the Lead Project Engineer.
About you
- Completing 4-year degree qualification to Bachelor status in electrical engineering (or equivalent industry experience in the absence of a degree);
- Experience in large infrastructure environments
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to organize and priorities demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands.
- Proficient skills in computers: MS Word, Excel, Access, and email.
- Ability and willingness to adapt, quickly learn and use new skills and knowledge brought about by rapidly changing structure, process, information and/or technology.
