An exciting opportunity is available with a leading electrical engineering firm delivering safety and risk assessment projects right across Australia. The company’s Electrical Engineering Safety department has an Internship opening for a talented student or graduate to commence training and practical experience in Electrical Safety Engineering with a focus on asset management protection, risk mitigation and quality assurance.
The 12-week Electrical Safety Engineering internship opportunity includes on-site training in safety protocols and in the delivery of risk assessments for power systems projects, electrification projects and building services engineering projects. As an Electrical Safety Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to develop deep skills in testing, QA, risk management, and in process improvement.
Electrical Safety Engineering Internship Roles and Responsibilities:
Developing System Safety Assurance Plans and implementing these processes in accordance with the requirements of the project, from concept to completion
Developing and managing hazard logs and risk registers for recording hazards/risks associated with different project scope
Planning, organising and facilitating Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA) systems under the supervision of senior Safety Engineers
Coordinate with site engineers and officers, and assist in allied roles such as procurement, project planning, supervision and testing
What will you learn during your Electrical Safety Engineering Internship?
Comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of State-based Safety regulations covering Electrical products
Hands-on experience in electrical safety compliance for a certification company, including safety assurance, lifecycle support and services support
Experience in reviewing application documents against applicable Electrical Standards (AS/NZS/IEC)
Training and experience in conducting Safety/Risk assessments
