NAIF has been allocated $7 billion and is well established with commitments totaling over $4.3 billion across 32 investments in Central and North Queensland, Northern Territory, and northern Western Australia.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Management Accountant our Associate, Accounts Payable works closely with all business units across the organisation managing all aspects of the accounts payable process. This role is offered on a Part-Time basis with flexibility on days / hours per day. This position is located at our Head Office, in Cairns.

If you have a passion for working collaboratively across all functions of the business, working with numbers and have a high level of attention to detail, then this role may be for you.

Your focus will be on receiving, reviewing, and processing invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring adherence to NAIF policies and procedures.

Your ability to be super organised, with an attention for detail whilst maintaining effective and efficient systems in relation to financial controls will assist NAIF in meetings its compliance obligations.

Responsibilities

Process all payable invoices ensuring they are cost coded correctly and processed within time for payment runs to be effective, as per budget guidelines.

Manage and coordinate the expenses reporting for the teams, including reconciling credit cards and reimbursements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Liaise with vendors, and employees on any payment queries and to validate invoices.

Working closely with the Management Accountant for monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliations and financial reporting requirements including providing administrative support.

Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.

Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records.

Contribute to establishing and maintaining internal controls that will withstand the scrutiny of internal and external audits and ensure satisfactory resolution of internal and external audit findings.

Maintain appropriate accounts payable documentation and driving ongoing improvement in business practices.

About you

A qualification in accounting/bookkeeping or significant experience.

Highly motivated and detail orientated who is driven to provide high level support and takes accountability for the smooth running of the administration for the team.

Proactively seek out business improvement opportunities and implement solutions.

Work under limited direction and take initiative.

Strong interpersonal skills with ability in build and sustain cooperative relationships, both internally and externally, to drive collaboration.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to share information to a range of audiences verbally.

Strong confidentiality and understanding of privacy principles.

Proficient in financial systems such as Dynamics GP, SAP Concur and Commbiz as well as Microsoft products such as word, excel & SharePoint.
