The Nathan River Resources mine site is located 50km inland from the Gulf of Carpentaria and approximately 760km from Darwin, we are the proud owner and operator of the Roper Bar Iron Ore Mine. We take pride in our in-house mine, marine and trans-shipment division, which manages a fleet of mine and marine assets dedicated to our operations.
As a result of the remarkable success of our initial operations, we are now seeking a Senior Mining Engineer.
Key responsibilities will be but not limited to:
Safety and environmental awareness along with a regard for the value of teamwork
Managing Tech Services team on site
Optimization and implementation of the Short & Medium Term Plan to ensure all goals are achieved
Daily production data analysis and reporting with a strong focus on Pit to Port
Preparation of periodic and monthly reports for management
Analysis of production information and variance to budget / estimate
Input into the short and medium term planning and scheduling process
Management of Drill & Blast contractor
Pro-active approach to Business Improvement opportunities for NR; and
Ownership of BI initiatives as dedicated projects in mine production and drill and blast areas.
FIFO Roster Ex Darwin is 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off.
To be considered for a role it is ESSENTIAL that you have the following skills and experience:
recognized qualification in Mining or a related discipline
strong background in Mine Planning and Drill & Blast in a large-scale open cut environment
strong interpersonal and organizational skills
highly consultative approach with other departments and disciplines
Previous drill and blast and dewatering experience will also be advantageous.
A sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs is essential.
Previous experience with mine-planning software including Surpac & Xact would be advantageous.
