Support Worker

Holy Cross Services is seeking an experienced Support Worker to join our Disability Services team in a permanent full-time capacity.

The role will be based at our client site, Mater Hospital South Brisbane, with the flexibility to work at our other locations as required. You will work as part of a team to ensure high-quality support services are delivered to our participants.

Monday to Friday - 8:00 am to 4:06 pm

The Support Worker role is focused on actively supporting our Supported Employees to develop their skills and capabilities, encouraging and supporting their integration into the cleaning operational teams, and advocating for them at all times.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting NDIS participants to complete their assigned cleaning duties while providing active, ongoing workplace assistance.
• Delivering training, guidance and support in accordance with individual support plans.
• Providing daily cleaning and operational updates to Holy Cross Cleaning Operational Leadership.
• Providing support and assistance to other Supported Employees when regular support staff are absent.
• Assisting with the induction, training and record keeping of Supported Employees.
• Completing weekly progress trackers and contributing to annual performance reports and reviews.
• Assisting with annual Supported Wage System (SWS) assessments.
• Leading monthly toolbox talks and attending additional toolbox or safety talks as required.
• Reporting incidents and near misses through Safety Champion, notifying the Coordinator or Manager, and providing first aid where required and appropriately trained.
• Attending performance reviews, expos, community events and other organisational activities as required.
• Completing relevant administrative tasks and any other duties reasonably required to support the effective operation of the cleaning program.

• Comfort using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn other systems as required
• Certificate III in Community Services or equivalent (mandatory)
• Current First Aid and CPR certification (mandatory)
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, or willingness to obtain one (mandatory)
• Valid Queensland Working with Children's Blue Card (mandatory)
