Solutions Architect

Well known organisation looking for an experienced Solutions Architect to join the team on a permanent basis
24th April, 2024 We are seeking a Solutions Architect to help the organisation modernise its Core Infrastructure footprint across Network, Compute and Storage. This will involve working closely with our Principal Solutions Architect defining and refining the target state for our new modern core infrastructure as well as leading the architecture in a migration from current to target state. This will include the full migration of one of our data centres
To be successful in this critical role requires:
An energetic strategic problem solver with considerable attention to detail and a curious and accountable approach
Outstanding interpersonal skills to collaborate, influence and partner effectively with essential team members across the organisation and externally
Proven ability working as a Solutions Architect or equivalent in the IT space
Proven working knowledge of Enterprise Systems architecture that covers: sophisticated multi-tier services and applications, OSs, DBs, networks, firewalls and traffic management, apps and infra automation - as well as supporting services, operations and monitoring.
Understanding the business requirements and translating them into technical specifications for infrastructure solutions.
Designing robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure architectures that align with business goals and industry best practices. This may include designing solutions for networking, storage, compute, virtualisation, Infrastructure Core services (i.e . AD, DNS, NTP,..) cloud integration, and disaster recovery.
Well-developed understanding of ACI design, Infrastructure as Code Service and Data Centre design
Evaluating new technologies, products, and services to determine their suitability for the business infrastructure needs. This involves researching, testing, and benchmarking various solutions.
Creating detailed technical documentation, diagrams, and architecture artifacts to communicate design decisions, implementation plans, and best practices to stakeholders.
Providing technical guidance and oversight during the implementation phase to ensure that the designed solutions are implemented correctly and meet the intended objectives.
Ability to provide technical leadership and demonstrate a maturity in teamwork - working across the spectrum of key technologies.
Ability to support and partner with key stakeholders from areas including Program Management, Networks, Security, Support and Enterprise Architecture.
Ability to ensure that the solution architecture balances functional, service quality and system management requirements.

Current technologies include: Cisco Routing / Switching and Software defined technologies, Cisco Firewall, Cisco Compute , Hitachi storage, Enterprise Backup Solution, Enterprise Java, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Windows, Oracle and SQL Server, VMware, Terraform, Puppet, Venafi, Azure DevOps Services, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, NTP, F5 traffic management, IP address management, Certificate Authority and Red Hat Satellite.
Experience/domain knowledge of Banking and Payments Systems would be very highly regarded.
