$100,000 – $150,000 per year + super + bonus

I met both of the Directors of this company many years ago, being introduced by some friends in the industry. They were both working at the senior level as the Head of the Estimating Department and a Project Manager for another business. Both are very well respected and spoken well of as good guys who were great at what they do in the civil commercial construction space .

They've built the relationships they have in the industry through simply being very relatable and always having time for people , cracking jokes and doing everything with a smile. After all, they're both country guys with human values.

Over two years ago, they started their own civil business off the back of relationships they had built over the years. Due to their expertise in tenders and construction, they've delivered on their promises to their clients and have built up a great portfolio of work which has extended from their local area to all over Metropolitan Melbourne.

I've received feedback from two other major clients who have used these guys as subcontractors and have had nothing but extremely positive feedback. They currently have 8 projects on their books with 3 set to be breaking ground very soon and a couple of sizeable jobs set to start in a couple of months.

With all of this work and one of the Directors being the best Estimators in the area , they're looking to welcome another Estimator to tender on further work and take advantage of all of his experience and expertise and be mentored and level up.

Your Role

This is a rare opportunity to join abusiness that is still in its infancy and help create something special. Being a new business, you'll be kept very busy with a wide array of responsibilities and a big impact on their culture moving forward. You'll be directly involved in all facets of the tendering process and will have the opportunity to work with and learn from one of the heavyweight estimators in Victoria, who is also one of the Co-Directors of the business.

You will be working very closely with the Head Estimator / Co-Director of the business. This business employs a very consultative and collective tender process whereby everyone is involved and works together with a high level of collaboration . You will also have the opportunity to meet clients with the Head Estimator / Co-Director to fully ingrain yourself in the business and the human side of the process, instead of the analytical number-crunching side.

You will also co-ordinate very closely with the Co-Director / Project Manager of the business to ensure feasibility and building capacity of the tender completing the 360 degree process of what true tendering and the winning of work really entails.

To be suitable for this role, you will require 2+ years demonstrated experience in estimating for civil construction projects and will also require a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
