Chief Financial Officer

Seeking an entrepreneurial thinking CFO to shape and drive our next phase of expansion and growth.
The Opportunity We have a newly created strategic CFO role that will partner with the Co-Founders, Board & Executive Team. As a commercially astute finance professional, you will be responsible for developing strategies to achieve sustainable growth, manage and optimise our financial resources, implement new initiatives, and elevate our capacity to thrive. You will develop and maintain strong and effective professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, work collaboratively across functions, manage an existing finance team, and have a place on our Executive Leadership Team.

Responsibilities Finance & Compliance
Ensure the delivery of robust and accurate financial management and Board Reporting
Working with the Managing Director and GM on the delivery of the annual budget for the business and leading the monthly, quarterly, and annual business review process
Ensure an appropriate internal control framework is implemented and supported by relevant financial and risk management policies including organisational compliance
Coordinate the company’s first audit and implement improvement recommendations
Systems & Data
Responsibility for all existing and future financial systems as company scales up, ensuring systems are fit-for-purpose, scalable, and provide for seamless integration of customer level data and financial data
Facilitate the utilisation of data to provide analysis and insight to inform strategic thinking and underpin business decision making
Treasury & Banking
Ensuring Oztix financial strength is maintained through effective cash flow and balance sheet management
Explore optimisation of the capital structure together with the Board
Optimise yield for cash held on the balance sheet
Commercial Advice
Evaluate and monitor bespoke commercial opportunities and client contracts to ensure deals adhere to sound financial analysis for positive commercial outcomes
Ensure data-driven insights feed into product / services pricing
Strategic Advice
Contribute to the company's vision which includes a growth strategy into new adjacent verticals
Facilitate linking of strategy to financial outcomes and business modelling
Lead execution of M&A activities, working closely with the board and Managing Director on due diligence
Management & Relationships
Management and leadership of an existing team of 6 permanent staff
Mentor existing finance leaders
Closely working with the other leaders of the business, including commercial, operations and tech
Managing relationships with key financial stakeholders including banks, payment providers and insurance providers
Profile Required Experience & Skills
A minimum of 8 years' experience in high performing finance functions
Experience in businesses that process large amounts of transactions or have a degree of complexity in their business model a plus
Prior CFO experience is desirable, however, experienced FP&A or financial controllers with strong CFO ambitions will be considered also
Track record of elevating data insights and high level of financial & board reporting
Ideally experience in M&A and audit. Experience with private equity owners will be viewed favourably
Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting or Economics, as well as a CPA or CA
