RUC is a diversified underground mining contractor with an extensive portfolio of Development, Production, Shaft Sinking and Raiseboring projects throughout Australia and the Asia-Pacific.
As a Project Director your focus will be to effectively manage project operations by providing technical and functional leadership that will ensure effective implementation of the project within the required scope, budget, and time frames.
We are continuing to build on our reputation and with this comes winning new projects. Due to these project successes, we require experienced Project Director to join our Shaft Division on the Tanami (NT).
About the Role
Reporting to the Associate Director â Shafts and Underground Construction, your key accountabilities will include:
Coordinate internal resources and third parties/ vendors to execute projects
Ensure project controls and reporting responsibilities are in place
Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
Coordinate and determine resource availability and allocation
Perform risk management to minimise project risks
Establish control mechanisms to prevent reoccurrence
Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis
Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members
Overseeing quality assurance and quality control activities
Overseeing recruitment, development, and retaining high performing team members
Safety meetings, Training standards and monthly safety reports analysed and continuously improved
Skills & Experience:
Tertiary qualifications in Project Management or Engineering related discipline.
10+ years’ experience within a similar role mining and construction projects.
Ideally, experienced in shaft sinking projects.
Successful delivery of projects whilst working for a contractor organisation.
Sound understanding of project finance and contract administration.
Strong commercial and managerial acumen and collaboration with client and project team members
Sound knowledge of AUS/NS Safety Standards
