At the Tasmanian Walking Company, we’ve been proudly walking since 1987 - delivering unique experiences that connect guests to some of Australia’s most remote, wild, and special places. Our team leads the way in sustainable, multi-day walking adventures that leave lasting impressions.
About the role:
As a Driver, you will play a key role in delivering seamless, safe, and enjoyable guest experiences. You’ll be transporting our guests and team to and from their adventures in Tasmania’s remote and wild landscapes - helping set the tone for the experiences that follow.
By applying to work at our Central Tas walks, you will be journeying out to the east coast at Ansons Bay to deliver guests out to the pristine white beaches of the Bay of Fires, or through the Cradle Valley up to Cradle Mountain.
Here’s what you will be doing:
Safely transport guests and team to and from trailheads, lodges, city accommodation, and airports
Complete pre-departure checks and ensure all vehicles are clean, stocked and trip-ready
Provide a warm, professional, and helpful experience for guests during their journey
Assist with loading/unloading luggage and supplies, and deliver food and goods to lodges as required
Support guides and guest experience team as needed (e.g. tagging bags, providing directions, taking group photos)
Report any vehicle or safety issues promptly
Our buses are stored in Hadspen, and shifts begin and end there.
What you will bring:
Previous experience in tourism or customer service roles
Excellent driving skills and road safety awareness
Ability to use smartphone apps and basic digital tools
Strong attention to detail, with a proactive and can-do attitude
Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and early mornings
A general interest in walking, the outdoors and Tasmanian nature is a bonus!
Licensing requirements:
Tasmanian Public Passenger Vehicle (PPV) Licence
Perks of the role:
Pro-deals and discounts on outdoor gear
Family & friend discounts on our walks
Employee Assistance Program support
Tasmanian Walking Company is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive and respectful workforce and we strongly encourage applications from people of all genders, cultures and walks of life. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.
Company Overview
At Tasmanian Walking Company, we’re driven by a simple philosophy: care for people, care for place, and create extraordinary experiences. Our culture is grounded in respect, connection, and genuine hospitality—whether we’re guiding guests on country, supporting teams behind the scenes, or caring for the landscapes we’re privileged to walk through. We value curiosity, professionalism, and humility, and we believe great work happens when people feel supported, trusted, and inspired. If you’re passionate about nature, meaningful experiences, and being part of a team that strives to leave every place better than we found it, you’ll feel right at home with us.
