About the Role
The purpose of this role is to receive, report on, action and effectively respond to litigation, and to receive, report on, action and effectively resolve disputes raised by customers (pre-litigation)

Duties
It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Litigation Specialists you will:
Collaborate with Manager, Dispute Resolution and Senior Litigation Specialists to develop litigation strategies for pre-litigation and litigation matters in alignment with business objectives
Manage and respond to internal review requests from insurers regarding liability decisions related to workers' compensation claims
Efficiently manage litigation processes, adhering to legislated timeframes and exhibiting model litigant behaviour
Utilise and update relevant claims management and customer relationship systems
Communicate, consult, and manage interactions, including settlement options and litigation strategies, with service providers, Scheme Agents, and impacted stakeholders
Work closely with Dispute Resolution Litigation team members as well as other internal stakeholders to achieve positive customer outcomes
Stay informed about precedents and emerging trends in pre-litigated and litigated matters and provide education to internal teams as needed
Skills & Experience
Admission as a legal practitioner to the Supreme Court of NSW with a current practising certificate
Collaborate with leaders on litigation strategies aligned with business goals
Manage internal review requests from insurers on workers' comp claims
Efficiently handle litigation within legal timeframes
Update claims and customer systems as needed
Communicate and manage interactions with service providers and stakeholders
Work with internal teams for positive customer outcomes
Stay informed on trends and educate internal teams
