Role purpose IDP has laid a strong foundation of digital transformation in IELTS by modernising large elements of our digital and technology estate. We are now expanding and strengthening our Language Testing focus, bringing more innovative approaches and technologies to pursue the next stages of transformation.
The Language Testing Technology and Partnerships Director is accountable for the enhancement, maintenance and technology operations of the IDP Language Testing technology estate. The LT Technology and Partnerships Director is accountable for evolving the architecture and delivery approaches within IDP while providing drive and coordination of modernising the technology capabilities managed by IDP Partners.
The LT Technology and Partnerships Director employs advanced stakeholder engagement participates in the IELTS Partnership by representing IDPs technology interests and providing leadership to shared IELTS technology teams, delivery and operations.
The LT Technology and Partnerships Director is involved in supporting and guiding the analysis of requirements, planning and design, as well as engineering and delivery. They directly lead efforts in business enablement and process optimisation, and guides the technology architecture and service catalogues, and manages Language Testing Technology operations.
Key accountabilities Roadmap
Collaboratively define Roadmaps for the allocated platforms and technology capabilities in alignment with the organisation's digital business strategy
Manage and coordinate the delivery of Roadmap outcomes to expectation
Engineering
Leading or working collaboratively with the Product, Business and Engineering teams on the development of new Products, Product enhancements and Product redesign
Efficiency
Managing allocated Budgets within the Portfolio
Improving performance in terms of operational cost, throughput and agility
Customer
Customer (i.e. Business Stakeholder) satisfaction
Establishing and communicating Customer requirements of technology applications, services and systems
Establish service delivery measures, and roadmaps of improvements against those measures
Innovation
Evolve the Language Testing technology estate to support the introduction of new technologies to enable the digital business strategy
Assess the potential risk of bringing new and emerging technologies into the organisation and determine mitigations
Suppliers
Manage allocated technology vendors for the Portfolio
Negotiate and manage vendor contracts to cost and performance standards
Resilience
In conjunction with the CyberSecurity and other capabilities, conduct risk management actions so that internal and external systems are safe and secure
Ensuring Language Testing technology platforms have maintained Disaster Recovery Plans in place, including annual testing of core systems
Required experience Essential Requirements
Educated to degree level with experience of working in a large, private-sector IT organisation
Identification and successful deployment of new IT technologies and development processes in a medium to large IT organisation
A wide understanding of IT technology and vendors combined with the ability to evangelise new developments to both technical and nontechnical audiences
Management of vendor relationships and negotiating with vendors
Desirable Requirements
Experience in leading digital business strategy
Knowledge of the Language Testing industry
