Rubix Solutions is representing a leading defence consultancy, offering multiple opportunities for experienced Systems/Network Engineers. These roles are within the Enterprise Technology Operations Branch (ETOB) of the Chief Information Officer Group (CIOG) at the Department of Defence.
Job Description
As a Systems/Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining critical IT systems and networks within complex defence environments. You will play a key role in ensuring the security, reliability, and performance of IT infrastructure, supporting the mission-critical operations of the Department of Defence.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, deploy, and maintain complex IT systems and networks, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
Provide hands-on expertise in at least two of the following disciplines: Network, Systems, Datacentre, Security, WINTEL, Unified Communications, and VOIP.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to assess requirements, develop technical designs, and implement solutions that meet project objectives.
Conduct technical reviews and assessments, identifying vulnerabilities and security issues, and implementing appropriate remediation measures.
Utilize your expertise in project governance to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, adhering to relevant policies and procedures.
Demonstrate excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, effectively engaging with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
Provide technical assurance and guidance to project teams, ensuring compliance with cyber security standards and protocols.
Maintain a high level of familiarity with terrestrial communications systems, leveraging this knowledge to enhance IT infrastructure and network capabilities.
Contribute to the development and implementation of IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending innovative solutions to enhance IT capabilities and security posture.
Requirements:
5 + years experience in Engineering
Existing NV1 security clearance or above
Hands on experience in at least 2 of the following disciplines - Network, systems, Datacentre, Security, WINTEL, Unified communications and VOIP
ICT Security or aligned Degree
CEH, CISM, CompTIA, Security+, CISA certifications Desirable
Experience with Terrestrial Communications highly desirable, or within the telecommunication sector
Proven experience working in complex defence IT environments
High familiarity with project governance
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Security and Technical Assurance expertise
Ability to review technical designs and develop relevant documentation
Identify vulnerabilities and security issues
